The last night I was in Puerto Rico was pretty awesome. I was supposed to hang out with Chris since he lives what a 4 hour plane ride away buuutt....whatever he had to do before us possibly going out was taking too long so I left early to grab a bite to eat & wait for his call.
Across the street from my hotel was some Taco Maker/can't remember what it's called but had semi healthy food. The semi healthy food spot had a really good caesar salad wrap & after grabbing one of those I went next door to Starbucks (yes Starbucks right across the street, I wish I had Starbucks right across the street all the time) grabbed my usual & sat outside for probably 2 hours. Sounds a little intense but it wasn't bad. I ate a bit but since the weather is so nice (even though it was 9:30 at night) I ended up throwing most of it away. I don't eat much in the summer. I called Foreign Friend (cuz we were still friends at the time) & talked for a few about how much I love Puerto Rico & didn't want to come home. After getting off the phone the man the next table over who had been eavesdropping decided to strike up a conversation. We probably talked for about an hour about the island, the difference between the people from different areas, politics, all kinds of stuff. When Starbucks closed he gave me his card, he's an astrologer, I was supposed to email him with my Bday time & stuff so he could do the whole astrologer thing but I'm not sure what I did with the card.
Anyways since I hadn't gotten a call I headed back to the hotel to use my gambling coupons in the Casino. The casino in our hotel on a Monday night was perfect. It's not too big so you don't get overwhelmed and it wasn't really packed. While losing a bit at blackjack I met a kid from Boston named Senan. Since blackjack wasn't doing us any good he took me over and taught me how to play craps. Not that I really remember. I just copied him except when he doubled down I didn't because I'm too much of a chicken. He lost money...I ended up walking out $100 richer. Which just adds to my winning streak because I have never officially lost at a casino. True Story.
After I quit while I was ahead we went for a walk down the side of San Juan I hadn't ventured onto yet and being that it was about 130am nothing was open except casinos so we decided to walk the beach back to where we were staying. This is when I learned that all the people saying the beaches in PR are rocky weren't kidding. Being that I was wearing heals I walked back barefoot and that kind of sucked. Then wouldn't u know it, the only time it really rained while I was there was right in that moment.
So to sum things up...last night in PR=Sore feet & Drenched/1 Benjamin in my pocket...kind of evens itself out.
